Now Hiring - Museum Assistant(s)

Position Details:

​​​

  • May-August 2025

  • 40 Hours/Week, including scheduled Saturdays

  • $15.50/Hour, with 4% Holiday Pay

  • Apply By: April 14, 2025​​​

What You Will Do:

  • Develop professional customer service skills.

  • Learn how to care for artifacts & archival documents.

  • Help create & run summer programming for children, families, & seniors, & run tours for school groups & individual tourists.

  • Learn how to connect visitors with the community & promote local tourism.

  • Develop advertising & marketing skills, including working with our website & professional social media accounts.

  • ​Increase your research & writing skills by answering research requests & helping to develop our summer exhibits.

  • Help maintain our facility & heritage gardens. 

Requirements:   ​

  • Friendly & professional demeanor.

  • Self-motivated, good time management skills.

  • Advanced communication skills in written & spoken English.

  • An ability to lift & move up to 20kg - reasonable accommodations can be made in this area.

  • All staff must provide a Police Record Check, as this position involves working with vulnerable sectors. 

  • This position is funded by the Young Canada Works &/or Canada Summer Jobs programs. Candidates must be eligible under one of these programs. Students must:​​

    • Be between 16-30 years of age at the start of employment.

    • Be a high school, college, CEGEP, or university student in the semester before the work assignment. 

    • Be willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment.

    • Not have another full time job (over 30 hours/week) during the work assignment.

    • Be legally entitled to work in Canada.​

    • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada.
