016-Leannes Bar & Grill

Leannes Bar and Grill

FAMtour_024

Looking to the west side of the road across Main street is Leanne's Bar and Grill. This building was originally built in 1927 for Vic's Garage, after the original building at a different location was destroyed by fire. A fire in 1948 at this site damaged Vic's Garage once again, however did not destroy the building. This building displays a typical style for garages in the 1920's after the Great War. The modern style, sometimes associated with the Art Deco movement in Europe, typically sees the buildings angled off the road. This style has a flat rood, and there is emphasis on the horizontal. Notice how the tops of all the windows line up horizontally. This style was meant to look sleek and modern, like the automobile it served.
