What's Happening at the Museum on August 28th?

 

9:00AM-3:30PM Town-wide Scavenger Hunt 

Pickup your starting clues at the Museum front desk from 9AM-3:30PM. Answers must be submitted by 4PM. Prize draw at 4:10PM.

 

9:30AM-4:30PM Arts N Crafts Guild Open House 

Come see the Millet Arts N Crafts Guild at work! And, buy a raffle ticket (License #560827) for the Arts N Crafts Guild's home-made, queen-sized Pane by Pane quilt. Tickets $2 -call 780-387-5558, email info@milletmuseum, or visit us at the Millet Museum.

10:00AM Carving Ribbon Cutting Ceremony 

Unveiling of the Museum's 35th Anniversary carving, created by local artist PowerCarver. Out front of Museum. 

 

10:00AM-4:00PM Painting Alberta Pop-Up Exhibit 

Albertan artist Sabine Lecorre-Moore will be displaying her landscapes of Alberta artwork outside of the Museum. This will be the last day to view this travelling exhibit. 

Paint your own Albertan landscape to be entered into a prize draw!

 

10:00AM-4:00PM Chalk Art 

Come paint the Museum sidewalk positive. In partnership with Millet SMILES.

 

10:00AM-5:00PM Redwagon Gifts Opening 

Come celebrate the official opening of the Museum's Redwagon Gifts shop. Vendors like Calla Creations (artwork and jewelry), Anam Cara Scents (candles), Addy's Bows (hair accessories), and more will be onsite. Fifth Avenue Jewelry will also be onsite in partnership with SMILES.

 

10:00AM-2:00PM Book Signing 

Local author Sam Hughes will be selling and signing copies of his first book Shadows of Redemption

 

11:00AM-12:00PM Town Parade 

The Millet & District Historical Society will be accompanied by parade marshal Bill Kemp in his antique Nash car. 

 

1:30PM-3:00PM Exhibit Opening/Induction Ceremony 

Join us on August 28th for our 2021 Pioneer Women Induction Ceremony and Exhibit Opening. Tickets are $10 per person (includes snack and beverages). Call 780-387-5558.
