Children's Programs

Earth Day Kits

Earth Day program kits have two components; a family science project component and individual activity sheets for each child. Kits contain the components and instructions.

Kits will be available for curb-side pick-up Monday, April 19 to Thursday, April 22.

Curb-Side Pick-Up

Due to current health regulations, our program kits are only available via curb-side pick-up.

1. We will confirm your registration and pick-up time using the email address you provide.

2. At your set pick-up time, please come to the back parking lot of the Museum. We are located in the south side of the Town of Millet Administration Building.

3. Look for the posted Program Pick-Up sign on the south side of the building. Pull in to the marked parking space or the closest empty space to the door.

4. Call the number on the sign (780-387-5558). Please tell the staff member who answers your name and that you have arrived to pick-up an Earth Day kit. We ask that you please wait in your vehicle.

If you do not have a cell phone to call, please call us before you leave your home, with an estimate of when you will arrive. When you arrive, please ring the doorbell, then return to your vehicle. Our staff will be watching for your arrival.

5. One of our staff will bring the kit out to your vehicle. Our staff will be masked; we ask that you also wear your mask.

Thank you for your ongoing support, involvement, and cooperation. If you have any further questions, please email our Programmer at milletmuseum.maggie@gmail.com or call us at 780-387-5558 from Monday to Friday between 9 AM - 5 PM.

2021 Summer Programs

We'll be posting more information here as the summer approaches. At present, we are waiting on the current health restrictions to make any announcements. We expect to post more information in May. Thank you for your patience.

Summer programs will be offered on a weekly basis throughout the summer. Our 2021 theme will be gardening and spending more time outdoors.

To give us your input on our 2021 summer programming, we encourage you to fill out this survey.

Programs for Preschoolers

The Millet & District Museum, Archives and Visitor Information Centre has run two programs specifically for pre-school aged children:

1. Canada Program (January-March 2020)

This onsite program used crafts, activities, and stories to interactively teach the climate, geography, animals, food, sports, and culture of each of the Canadian provinces and territories.

2. Pre-school Kit Program (September 2020 - March 2021)

This activity-kit based program was designed to teach basic pre-academic skills from home. Activities, crafts, and stories focused on literacy, numeracy, emotional regulation, and learning shapes and colours.

The Museum is not offering any pre-school specific programs at this time. Parents of pre-school children over age four are encouraged to look into our 2021 Summer Programs.
