Queen's Platinum Jubilee Medals

Alberta’s Platinum Jubilee Medal commemorates the 70th anniversary of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s accession to the Throne upon the death of her father, King George VI, on February 6, 1952.
Alberta wanted a tangible way to honour her late Majesty for her life of service to this province and country. At the same time, it would serve to honour significant contributions and achievements by Albertans.
This year, 7000 Albertans will be recognized throughout the province. All of the medal recipients are nominated by their peers and selected through a nomination committee.
The following Maskwacis-Wetaskiwin constituents were nominated and chosen for their outstanding service and citizenship: Jeannie Blakely, June Boyda, Berta Briggs, Brian Brown, Colleen Debra Buskas, Chris Daniel, Garry Dearing, Elaine Elderkin, Zella Marie Gardiner, Pat Garrett, Darlene Kobeluck, Corey Kozack, Chris Laing, Frank Edwin Lockhart, Janice Lockhart, Judy Louis, Becky Rae Soch, Bryron Reynolds, Bob Robinson and Shannon Lynn Ware.

The Museum would like to specifically congratulate Millet & District residents Berta Briggs, Elaine Elderkin, Zella Marie Gardiner, Pat Garrett, and Bob Robinson.
